Description
Church Farmhouse is a 17th-century timber-frame house that has been encased in red brick in the early 19th century. It features a steep pantile roof with gabled ends and two large external brick chimney stacks at the rear. The building has two storeys and an attic, with attic windows located in the end gables. Attached to the front (south) of the farmhouse is an addition dated 1819, which is also made of red brick and has a black glazed pantile roof with a gabled end. This addition has two storeys, three bays, and features sash windows with glazing bars, flat rubbed brick arches, a central doorway with a semi-circular fanlight and a glazed door, as well as brick end stacks. Inside the original building, there is exposed timber-framing and an ovolo chamfered ceiling beam. There is also possibly a resited early 19th-century round arched doorway within the interior.
