The Poplars is a 17th-century timber-framed cottage that has been plastered. It features a steep pantile roof with gabled ends and has a large brick chimney stack at the north end, along with a later external stack at the south end. The cottage is one storey with an attic and includes two gabled dormers. The central entrance has a flush panel door with an architrave adorned with roundels. There is also another flush panel door and a large late 19th-century bay window situated between the two doors. At the rear (west) of the building, there is a gabled wing, and on the north end, there is an early 19th-century red brick wing with a hipped pantile roof, brick dentil eaves, and two storeys featuring 19th-century three-light casements.
