Description

Dairy Farm House is a 17th-century farmhouse, with later alterations. The original timber frame was encased in brick during the 20th century. The steeply pitched roof is now covered in pantiles, replacing what was originally thatch. The house is two storeys with an attic, and it has a later two-storey wing attached to the west. Windows are mostly 19th and 20th-century casements, with two or three lights. An attic window with glazing bars is located in the east gable. A large axial brick stack is positioned slightly off-centre to the east. The western wing, built in the 19th century, has a shallow-pitched roof and a tall off-centre ridge stack. A 20th-century red brick gabled porch was added at the junction of the two blocks on the south side. Inside the original timber-framed range is a winding stair beside the stack, and there are jowled principal posts with corner braces.
