Description
Nos. 2 and 4 St. Andrew's Street is a former public house and shop, which was disused at the time of the re-survey. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed of white brick, painted at the ground floor, with a pantile roof. The building occupies a corner site and has three storeys with seven bays arranged in a 3:4 configuration, including a rounded corner bay.
The corner features a door flanked by two-light windows, supported by attached Ionic columns and square end pilasters. To the left of the corner door is a shop door, which has fluted columns and a small flat hood resting on triglyphs. There are three windows between the doors, with the central window having a rusticated round-arch surround. The windows to the left of the shop door have panelled surrounds and hoods. At the time of the re-survey, all the ground floor windows were boarded up.
The first and second floors feature sash windows with glazing bars and rubbed brick flat arches, along with a box cornice. There are also two small flat-roof dormers, and the roof is hipped at the west.
