Description
No. 7 St John's Alley is a former building of unknown use, now functioning as a shop. It dates from the late 16th century and was raised in the 18th century. The building is rendered, with a rendered timber frame on the first floor and a pantile roof. It stands three storeys high and features a jettied first floor with two bays. The central door is framed with an eared and moulded surround, topped with a 'Jacobean' architrave and hood. The ground and first floors have sash windows with glazing bars and plain surrounds, while a large panel with a moulded frame is situated between the first floor windows. The second floor features flight casement windows, and there is a fascia cornice.
