Description

Anglia House, formerly known as Agricultural Hall, is a former agricultural hall that has been converted into television studios and offices. It was built in 1882 by J.B. Pearse. The building is constructed of red brick with stucco detailing and features two storeys plus a semi-basement.

The façade consists of nine bays, with the central three projecting. There is a central door that is accessed by five steps but is currently blocked by 20th-century glazing. The ground floor has recessed casement windows, and all openings at this level are adorned with rusticated semi-circular arches that feature key-stones shaped like a man's head, with a fleur-de-lys above the doorway.

On the first floor, there are casement windows with raised and moulded surrounds, flat hoods, and aprons, with segmental arches above the three central windows. Above these, circular windows are framed with scrolled surrounds. The central bays are flanked by four fluted pilasters that support a pediment decorated with ornate swags and the Norwich arms, along with paired end pilasters. A dentil stringcourse runs between the floors, and the building is topped with a balustraded parapet.
