Description
Hoffers Restaurant is a house that has been converted into a restaurant, dating from around 1840 with later additions. The building is constructed of painted brick and features a hipped slate roof and a yellow brick chimney. It stands two storeys high and has three first-floor windows. The entrance, located in a slightly projecting central bay, consists of a door with six raised and fielded panels topped by a plain overlight, all set within a triple recessed gauged brick arch that is flanked by pilasters. The windows are large-paned sashes with horns, placed under flat gauged brick arches. A rendered cornice runs under the parapet, which is adorned with a central scrolled pediment and ball finials at the corners. To the right, there is a later single-storey extension that features three windows with glazing bar sashes and a hipped slate roof. Additionally, there is a two-storey flat-roofed extension at the back. On the left side, a square-fronted bay includes a blind window on the main facade and is topped by two statues on the parapet above the pilasters, facing left.
