Description

This is a house, now offices, dating from the 18th century. The building is constructed of red brick, with a painted plinth and the right bay on the ground floor rendered. The roof is not visible. It is three storeys high, with a basement, and has seven windows on the first and second floors. A flight of three stone steps leads to the centrally positioned entrance, which originally comprised two leaves, and now has four raised and fielded panels, with two glazed lights set within panelled surrounds. Two Tuscan half-columns support a pediment above the door. The right bay is slightly recessed and contains a 19th-century half-glazed door with a segmental head. The left bay has a plain, sealed door with an overlight and glazing bars, set within a simple moulded doorcase. Large, multi-paned sash windows are present, each with a flat gauged brick arch; the left bay has 16-pane sashes. Two lead downpipes are visible. A modillion cornice runs along the top of the building. There is one gable-end chimney and one ridge stack.
