Description
The building at the rear of Number 29 on Magdalen Street is a disused house, likely dating from the late 17th century, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed from flint and brick rubble and features a pantile roof. The house has two storeys, and the entrance is accessed through a side passage. The windows are arranged irregularly, including one horizontal window with metal stay bars. Inside, remnants of 18th-century features can be found on the first floor, such as fielded panelling and a wall cupboard with a shouldered architrave. The roof has been partly rebuilt and consists of a double butt-purlin structure. This block is set back from the street line and runs parallel to it, representing a variation in the siting of late medieval buildings in Norwich.
