Description
Ebeneezer is a former railway manager's house built in the mid-19th century, specifically in 1847, by the builders and architects Grissell & Peto for the Norfolk Railway Company. The house is constructed of red brick that has been colour-washed, and it features a hipped slate roof along with three yellow brick chimneys. It has an L-shaped plan and is two storeys tall with irregular window arrangements. The facade, which is positioned at right angles to the street, includes a panelled half-glazed door with a plain overlight, set within a projecting porch that has a four-centred head and a pediment. To the right of the door, there is a casement window, as well as another in the adjacent single-storey wing. A plain string course runs along the building. This house is part of a unique group of planned workers' dwellings in Norwich City.
