Description
The K6 telephone kiosk, designed in 1935 by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, is located outside the entrance of the former mustard seed drying shed, which was built in 1890 and is also listed as Grade II.
This kiosk features a square plan and is made of a cast-iron frame with a timber door. It is painted red and has long horizontal glazing in both the door and the sides. There are rectangular white display signs that read ‘TELEPHONE’ with applied crowns situated beneath the shallow-curved roof. The timber door retains its original hinge, although the door handle has been replaced. The telephone equipment was removed in the early 21st century.
