Description
Quay Barn is a building from the 17th or 18th century, originally likely a barn but now used as a dwelling. It is constructed of flint and brick, topped with a pantile roof that has brick coping on the north gable end facing the road. The barn is positioned at right angles to the road and features a hipped roof at the south end. It has two storeys and consists of ten bays. The windows are modern two and three-light casements with leaded panes, and the ground floor windows are set in segmental-headed openings. The end of the building facing the road includes a modern oriel window, and there is a lean-to structure along the west side. Additionally, there is a wall adjoining the north-east corner of Quay Barn along The Quay, which is likely from the 19th century. This wall is made of flint cobbles and rises to about 9 feet high, featuring modern gates. The barn and wall are included for their group value.
