Description
The Old Hall farm buildings consist of a lofted cowshed with an attached two-storeyed dwelling, dating to the 18th century. The buildings are constructed of coursed flint with an irregular brick mosaic, brick dressings, and a hipped pantile roof. The cowshed, which faces south, has four bays, with two wide openings leading to the loft, featuring wooden lozenge mullions. The ground floor fenestration is varied, including two windows across what were previously blocked doorways. A doorway is located on the left-hand side. The west return has renewed quoins, some early 18th-century brickwork, two ground-floor doorways (the left of which is renewed), and one renewed three-light window to the first floor.
Inside the cowshed, there is a concrete floor, a central channel, and a loft partially supported by massive ties, one of which has been removed. The roof has been renewed, except for the hips. A ladder provides access to a single room on the first floor of the first bay. The cowshed is attached to The Old Hall by a single-storey range to the north. Small, open-sided shelters range across two yards to the east, separated by a concrete wall. A small flint building with a hipped pantile roof is situated within this wall. The buildings are included in the listing for their group value with The Old Hall.
