Description
The Kings Head Public House is an early 18th-century building located on Holt High Street. It features red brick construction, with some areas plastered and colorwashed. The roof is steeply pitched, covered with black-glazed pantiles on the north side and red pantiles on the south side. The gables are coped and have tumbling. The building has two storeys and attics, with the elevation facing High Street being colorwashed. It includes sash windows with architraves and glazing bars. The entrance door is off-centre, consisting of four panels and framed by a plain doorcase and a rectangular fanlight. There is a projecting bow window on the west side of the doorway. The eaves are adorned with modillions, and there are brick chimney stacks at each gable and one off-centre to the east. An inn sign hangs from a fine iron scroll bracket. The south side features a catslide roof and three pantiled attic dormers. To the south, there is a courtyard that includes a stable block made of brick, flint, and pantile, which has lunettes and doors for the stable and hay-loft.
