Description

27 and 29 High Street are early 19th-century buildings made of red brick with a hipped pantile roof that is partly black-glazed. They are two stories tall with a parapetted facade featuring stone coping. The first-floor windows are sash style with flat rubbed arches above them. The facade is adorned with stone corner finials and a large stone lion at the center of the parapet. There is a modern shopfront at the ground level. The buildings have rusticated brick quoins and one pilaster. Grey brick chimney stacks are located on the east and west sides. The eaves are decorated with moulded brick modillions, and the west side also has sashes with rubbed arches.
