Description
Nos 21 and 23 High Street are 18th-century buildings constructed of grey brick with red brick dressings. They feature a steep pantile roof with parapetted gables and gable chimney stacks. The five-bay facade includes sash windows with glazing bars and rendered flat arches above them. There is a brick string course at the first floor level and an eaves cornice. The central doorway has a doorcase with pilasters, although the rectangular fanlight above is blocked. On the left-hand side, there is a modern shopfront. To the west, No 23 has a later one-storey and attic extension, which is also built of brick and pantile with a parapetted gable. This extension has a parapetted facade with a timber and plaster shopfront that features classical motifs.
