Description
The Water Mill and Mill House, dating from the 18th century, is constructed of flint and chert with red brick dressings and features a hipped pantile roof. The building stands three storeys tall and has brick dentil eaves, with the house and mill forming a continuous range.
The house consists of three bays and has a central doorway with a doorcase and a six-panelled door. It features sash windows with flat rubbed arches, and there are blocked openings above the doorway. A chimney stack is aligned with the entrance door.
The mill has four bays and includes casement windows and fixed lights with glazing bars, all topped with segmental brick arches. There are two doors at first floor level, while the second floor window openings are blocked. A small brick chimney is located on the ridge line at the party wall between the house and the mill. The original water wheel has been replaced by turbine machinery, which has been removed.
