Description
Bacon's House is an early 18th-century house that has undergone significant alterations. It was likely built by Robert Bacon, a carpenter who owned the property in 1703. The staircase dates from this period. The rear of the house is faced with red brick and flints, while the front has been covered with stucco at a later date. It features an eaves dentil cornice and primarily has a slate roof, although there are some tiles at the rear. The glazing bars are missing, and there are two large 19th-century bays on the ground floor. The doorway is adorned with pilasters and a pediment.
