Description
Sideways is a Grade II listed building located on Egmere Road in Little Walsingham. It is now a single dwelling but was originally three cottages. The structure is positioned at right angles to the road, with the northern two cottages likely dating from the 18th century or early 19th century. They are constructed of plastered flint and feature a pantile roof with gabled ends. The building has two storeys and three widely spaced windows, which are small two-light casements with glazing bars. There are two doorways: the right-hand one has an entablature and a glazed and panelled door, while the left-hand door is a simple boarded design. An off-centre brick chimney stack is present.
The southern cottage, located at the road end, is from the 17th century and made of flint, with a 19th-century red brick front. It has a steep pantile roof with coped gable ends and brick dentil eaves. This part of the building is one storey with an attic, featuring one window, which is a sash with glazing bars, and an attic dormer that also has a sash with glazing bars and a segmental-shaped roof.
