Description
Southwell House is an 18th century or earlier house featuring an early 19th century yellow brick front. It has a slated roof with coped gable ends and stands two storeys tall. The front has three windows with flat rubbed brick arches; the first floor has two-light casements with glazing bars. On the ground floor, there are two French windows also with glazing bars. The central doorway is framed by a porch with fluted columns that support an entablature and has a moulded architrave. Above the door is a rectangular fanlight with patterned glazing bars, leading to a modern glazed door. There is a brick chimney stack at each end of the house, and the end walls are made of brick and stone.
