Description
No. 4 Guild Street is a late 17th-century building constructed of flint and brick. It features a steep pantile roof with brick coping at the gable ends and is positioned at right angles to the road. The building has two storeys and an attic, with an attic window located in the gable end. On the first floor, there are three 18th or 19th-century two-light casement windows. The ground floor has two three-light sash windows with glazing bars set in moulded cases. The central doorway is pilastered and topped with a cornice on console brackets, featuring a rectangular fanlight and a 20th-century glazed door.
On the north end, there is a lean-to with a splayed bay that has a modern door inserted. The south end facing the road includes two late 19th or early 20th-century ground floor sash windows and a small attic casement. There is a brick chimney stack at each end of the building. At the rear (east), there is a one-storey wing that features a late 19th or early 20th-century shop window facing the road, which is adorned with pilasters and consoles supporting a cornice, and includes a four-light shop window.
