Description
Red House is a good 18th-century house located on Nelson Road in Fakenham. It is constructed of red brick and features a steep black-glazed pantile roof with coped gabled ends. The building has a brick dentilled eaves cornice and stands two storeys high with an attic. There are five windows, which are sashes with glazing bars and segmental brick arches. The central doorway is notable for its pilasters and open pediment, along with a semi-circular fanlight that has a keyblock and patterned glazing bars, panelled reveals, and a six-panelled door. The house also has three flat-roofed dormers with cornices and sashes featuring glazing bars. Brick chimney stacks are positioned over the gabled ends, and there is a late 19th-century wing at the rear.
