Description
Alma Cottage and Beacon Cottage, located on Blakeney High Street, are probably 16th century buildings constructed from flint and brick, featuring brick quoins. They have a steep pantile roof that is gable-ended with a hipped corner and brick dentil eaves. The cottages are two storeys high. Beacon Cottage (No 96) has two windows, along with one small modern window on both the ground and first floors. The windows are sashes with glazing bars. There are also two flush panel doors with glazed top halves, and the ground floor openings have brick segmental arch heads. The right-hand return of Beacon Cottage, which faces Little Lane, has four windows. Inside Alma Cottage (No 98), there is a fielded-panel and moulded door with original hinges, while Beacon Cottage features a fireplace with a timber bressummer adorned with many carved merchant marks.
