Description
Sunways Mill is a corn tower mill built in 1849. It features a six-storey tapering brick tower topped with a conical galvanised cap. On the west side, there is a segmental door at ground level with one sash window on each floor above, all having glazing bars and segmental heads. The north side has a blocked ground floor window, now replaced with a smaller window, and a segmental door above it, along with a damaged datestone and a sash window on each floor above. The east side also has a segmental door at ground level and one sash window on each floor above. The south side includes a window on the ground and second floors. The interior floors are intact, featuring an iron mortise great spur wheel mounted on a sixteen-sided hollow iron upright shaft. There are two pairs of stones with vats and hoppers, although one pair is open with a runnerstone on an iron lifting crane. Additionally, there is a crown wheel for a sack hoist.
