Description

A mid-19th century terrace of four cottages is located on The Street, West Raynham. The cottages are built of flint with brick dressings and red pantiled roofs. They are arranged as two storeys and two bays each, set on slightly canted angles. Number 24 has a single casement window on each floor with horizontal glazing bars. Number 25 has a single ground floor and first-floor two-light casement with glazing bars, and a boarded front door. Number 26 has two casement windows on each floor, with glazing bars. Numbers 27 and 28 each have a single casement window on each floor with glazing bars. All cottages have boarded front doors, and brick dressings to the window openings. Brick end quoins are visible, along with brick quoining that marks the party wall divisions. The roof features kneelers, a coped parapet, and ball finials to the end gables and party walls. The chimneys are arranged as three gable stacks and one off-ridge stack. A single-storey flint and brick addition with a pantiled roof, dating from around 1900, is situated at the south end and incorporates a porch.
