Description

This is an early 18th-century brick farmhouse with a thatched roof. It has two storeys and an irregular arrangement of bays. The facade features burnt brick headers. The central doorway is flanked by two 19th-century cross casement windows to the left and a 20th-century window to the right. A platband runs around the building between the floors. The first floor has three 19th-century cross casement windows and one blind window. The gabled roof has a 20th-century ridge stack located slightly right of centre, and an internal south gable stack. The gable ends have tumbled stonework. Inside, the bridging beams have jewel-shaped stops, and the main first-floor south room has double jewel-stopped beams. The roof structure consists of tie beams, principals, and two tiers of butt purlins, although many of the timbers have been replaced with softwood.
