Description

The Railway Bridge, built in 1881, carries a road over the Midland and Great North Railway local line. It is constructed of steel and brick. The structure features horizontal girders that support cross girders, which in turn hold up four brick arches. Above the arches is a plate parapet adorned with trefoils bolted onto each section. The bridge is supported by vertical lattice-girder pillars, from which delicate steel arched braces extend to support the horizontal girders. In the spandrels of the bridge, there are circular designs.
