Description
Nos 1, 3, and 5 Shirehall Plain is a building dating from the late 17th century, with possibly an earlier core. It features pebbledash rendering and is likely timber framed, topped with a steep-pitched pantile roof. The structure has two storeys and an attic, along with a part-basement. It includes sash windows, a modern shopfront at No. 1, and a doorcase with fluted pilasters at No. 3. There is a projecting bay window with sashes, and another modern shopfront at No. 5. At the northeast corner, there is a projecting 20th-century wing with a shaped gable, also two storeys and an attic, constructed of red brick and pantile. The wing has a parapetted gable with a chimney stack to the south and a large off-centre brick chimney. Additionally, there is a gabled dormer featuring leaded lights.
