Description

Old Manor Farm House is a house dating from the 17th century and later, constructed of brick with a pantile roof, designed in an L shape. It has two storeys and a front that features five bays, with the left side consisting of two bays within a gabled crosswing. The central porch is two storeys high, has a shaped gable, and includes moulded brick platbands between the storeys, mostly from the 19th century, although some earlier brickwork is visible on the ground floor. The porch is fitted with a 19th-century door and a 19th-century casement window above it. To the right of the door, there are two bays with 19th-century casements, which are set under rubbed brick flat arches. A moulded brick platband runs across the front. The right side features a shaped gable with a rendered plinth and a platband between the second and attic storeys, along with a blocked opening in the attic. To the left of the porch is an earlier two-bay gabled wing, with bricks laid in two rows of stretchers and one row of headers. This wing has 19th-century casements with projecting brick jambs, topped with much repaired brick triangular pediments. Brick quoins are visible to the left and beside the porch. The left return of the house has four bays, with a flat stepped hood mould over the doorway in the third bay and raised brick jambs. The fourth bay contains sash windows with glazing bars, while the rest of the openings are blocked, all featuring raised brick jambs and a platband. Brick quoins are present as well.
