Description

The following building shall be added to the list:-

RUNTON HIGH STREET, East Runton TGI4SE (south side) 2/10001 Flint House and attached wall II House. c1840, extended later C19. Flint gallets set in black mortar to facade with rendered and painted brick dressings. Rear and gable-ends of coursed flint pebbles with brick dressings, part rendered on right gable-end. Pantile roof with left ridge and truncated right end stacks. 2 storeys; 3-window range with extra window bay to left. 8/8 sashes with blind window over central 4-panel door and overlight. Bay to left has former carriage entrance, now blocked, containing plank door and 2-light casement with 3-light casement over. Gable to right has datestone inscribed WS 18- (rest indecipherable). Rear has 8/8 sashes, sash with margin glazing, casement, doors and 2 lean-tos linked by flint pebble wall. INTERIOR. Stick baluster staircase, 4-panel doors and 2 fireplaces with cast-iron grates. The galletted flint facade is a rare technique particular to the small area around Cromer and Sheringham.
