Description

Holly House is a mid-17th century farmhouse that has been restored in the late 20th century. It is constructed of brick and has a thatched roof. The house follows a lobby entrance plan and is one storey high with a dormer attic. A two-storey gabled porch is positioned to the left of centre, featuring a 20th-century half-glazed door under a segmental arch with brick rustication on either side. A moulded platband sits below a 20th-century casement window in the first floor, and the gable head rests on generously proportioned kneelers. There are two 20th-century casement windows to the left and right of the porch, with two similar casements set within sloping dormers above. The gabled roof has a ridge stack over the porch, which has been rebuilt. The western gable head has been rendered, while the eastern gable features a platband and burnt headers. A two-storey outshut, constructed of brick and with a slate roof, is located at the rear but obscures parts of the original structure. An additional 20th-century flat-roofed porch has been added, and all the windows are 20th-century replacements.
