Description
Lower Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 18th century, with a facade from the late 18th century. It is constructed of brick and flint and features thatched roofs. The building has a T plan and the facade is two storeys high with three bays. The central door is located behind a 20th-century timber porch, with small glazed hall lights on either side. The windows are horned sashes with glazing bars. There is a dentil eaves cornice below the gabled roof, and internal gable end stacks. The gables are made of flint, raised in brick and set upon brick kneelers. There is an earlier rear wing that is one storey high with a dormer attic. The north side is partly obscured by later outshuts, and features a single dormer with a casement under the thatch. The gabled roof has a rendered ridge stack, while the south side has two 20th-century casements and a gabled dormer with casements. The east gable is set on kneelers.
