Description

Church Farmhouse, formerly the Rectory, dates from the late 17th century, with later alterations. It stands on an earlier moated site. The house is constructed of flint with brick dressings, and has a red pantiled roof. It is two storeys high with an attic. The front, overlooking the garden, features two ground-floor and three first-floor windows, which are late 19th-century plate glass sashes set within brick surrounds. A part-glazed boarded door is also present. There are blocked windows and a blocked door opening on the ground floor, and one blocked window on the first floor. Two 20th-century dormers with glazing bars are visible in the roof. Brick quoins, kneelers, and parapets are present, with end stacks. A single-storey, brick-and-flint lean-to is located to the west. The west gable has three windows, two of which are blocked, and displays brick diapering. The east gable features two attic windows with brick surrounds and drip-moulds. The rear elevation exhibits a series of blocked brick-dressed windows. The interior retains stopped and chamfered spine beams with run-out stops, and traces of large original fireplaces.
