Description
Nos 1 and 5 Muckledycke is a 17th-century house constructed with flint and clunch, featuring stone dressings and a roof made of red pantiles. The building is two storeys high and was previously used for multiple occupations. A porch was added at the rear in the 20th century. The north side has random window placements, with 20th-century windows fitted into older openings, some of which have stone embrasures, and there are also blocked windows. The remains of a stone door jamb indicate that it originally had a lobby entrance. One window opening with a stone jamb survives on the ground floor to the left. The building has cut stone end quoins with shaped kneelers at the eaves level and brick coped parapets that have been rebuilt. The south side features 20th-century windows set in brick quoined surrounds, and there are two end stacks.
Inside, the two end bay rooms on the ground floor have simple longitudinal beams with basic chamfers that end in triangular stops. There are also beams at right angles over the fireplaces, with the eastern fireplace featuring a simple stone flattened arch.
