Description

The cottages at 4 and 6 Wells Road date from the 17th century or the first half of the 18th century. They are built of flint with red brick dressings, and have roofs of red pantiles. The cottages are a pair, each originally with a single storey and an attic. Number 4 has one ground floor casement window with glazing bars, under a wooden lintel. It features a gabled wooden porch and a boarded door, with brick end quoins. A dormer window with a 3-light casement sits under a sloping wedge roof. The south gable has brick kneelers and a rebuilt coped parapet. A lean-to addition extends from the south side. The central stack is shared with number 6, which has two ground floor windows, one a 19th-century casement and the other a 20th-century casement, and a 4-light dormer.
