Description
The gate pier and wall, located 115 metres west of Hunstanton Hall, date from the late 17th century. They are remnants of a formal garden that was created after the marriage of Sir Nicholas Le Strange, 4th Baronet, in 1686. The gate pier is made of red brick with stone dressings and has a rectangular plan in a classical style. It features a south rebate stone console bracket and a stone moulded plinth that supports a bracket for a roundel. The garden wall to the north is faced with brick on the east side, which faces Hunstanton Hall, and on the west side, it is constructed of squared coursed carstone with triangular coping. The wall returns at the northwest corner but has been demolished beyond that point.
