Description
No. 142 Norfolk Street is a shop building from the late 18th century. It is constructed of rendered and colourwashed brick, designed to imitate ashlar, and features a slate roof. The building has two storeys and includes a mid-19th century plate glass shopfront, with the glazing held in place by circular stiles. There are central 20th century glass doors and a second door to the right, which used to provide access to the first-floor accommodation. A fascia hood is supported by scrolled brackets. The first floor has four mid-19th century sash windows, which do not have horns and each has one glazing bar, with architraves and sills supported on block corbels. Above is a parapet with a minimal eaves cornice, and the building has a gabled roof with internal gable-end stacks that were rebuilt in the late 20th century.
