Description

No.36, Nelson Street is an early 19th-century shop and flat, built of brown brick and with a slate roof. The building occupies a curved site and has three bays facing Nelson Street, two bays facing Church Street, with a shop entrance at the corner. The shop front features a 20th-century glazed door with a cast-iron grille above, alongside three arched glazed lights. Above the shop front is a curved sash window from the late 19th century, with blind windows on either side. A panelled door with a three-light overlight is located to the left on the west end of Nelson Street, accompanied by a late 19th-century sash window to the right. The upper floor on this side has two similar sash windows. The building has a parapet and a hipped roof, topped with two ridge stacks.
