Description

The Former National School, built in 1841, features a dated tablet in the south gable. It is constructed from carstone with buff brick dressings and has four square-headed casements facing the garden to the east. The building has gabled ends on the north and south sides, each featuring a large pointed arch that includes a four-light window and doors. The wood mullion transom casements have small panes, stop-chamfered jambs, and hood bands. The roof is tiled. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 17 to 25 (odd), the Former National Schools, and the Former Howdale Lodge, as well as No 10 Howdale Road.
