Description
Faulkner House is an early 18th-century house constructed of brick with pantile roofs. It features a five-bay south facade that rises three storeys. The central entrance has a panelled door topped by a plain fanlight, set within a doorcase supported by Tuscan columns, which hold up a Doric block architrave and a dentiled open pediment. The pediment has a coffered soffit. On either side of the entrance, there are two sashes with glazing bars, each located beneath gauged skewback arches. A platband runs along the first floor. The first floor has five renewed horned sashes with glazing bars, also beneath gauged skewback arches. The second floor contains two sashes and three folding casements, all under gauged skewback arches. A platband is situated below a plain parapet. The roof is double gabled with internal end stacks, and the returns are unadorned. To the north, there is a two-storey brick extension from the 19th century, featuring a slate roof and casement windows, which is of no special interest.
