Description
The monument to William Bean, located in the churchyard of St. Mary, is a Grade II listed table tomb dating from 1787. It is made of limestone and features a rectangular shape with corner clasping pilasters that have entasis. The pilasters are adorned with relief carvings of amphorae, rosettes, and drapery folds, while the east and west ends display crossed burning torches. The cornice is designed as a triglyph frieze with roundels in the metope panels. On the north and south sides, there are raised inscription panels with a fan-shell decorative motif extending to the sides. The top slab is plain and overhanging.
