Description

The drinking fountain located to the north of number 174 on Lynn Road in Wisbech is a memorial designed by the sculptor H.H. Armstead R.A. It is built in the Renaissance style using Mansfield sandstone and Sicilian marble. The fountain features three troughs intended for horses, sheep, and dogs. Originally, it was situated in the Old Market and was possibly moved around 1950. An inscription on the plaque reads, "Erected in Memory of George Duppa and Mary Anne Collins for many years resident in this town by their loving daughters," as noted in Gardiner's History of Wisbech from 1898.
