Description

The Old Dairy Farmhouse, dated 1623, is a farmhouse constructed from carstone rubble with brick dressings and features a pantile roof with gable parapets. It has a two-cell layout with a lobby entrance and stands two storeys tall. A central axial stack is marked with a datestone reading '1623 I'. The central doorway is flanked by square hood moulds on the ground floor, with the left one partially blocked and the right one now serving as a doorway. The first floor has two quoined openings that are partially blocked. On the left side, there is a doorway within a partially blocked opening, which retains the remains of a square brick hood mould. The first floor and attic also have blocked openings, and there is a continuing wing at the rear. At the time of the survey, the house had been unoccupied for 17 years, and the roof was partially collapsed.
