Description
Arch Farm Cottages and attached outbuildings consist of three cottages that were originally part of a farmhouse. They date from the early to mid 18th century, with some mid 19th century additions. The buildings are constructed of red brick and feature a pantile roof with a single brick coped gable. There is one ridge and three gable stacks, along with a tall rendered plinth. The main structure has three bays, with a mid 18th century addition to the left and a single bay added in the mid 19th century. Overall, there are six irregular bays and the buildings are two storeys high.
The entrance is off-centre, featuring a panel door with an overlight. To the right, there is a single glazing bar sash window with a 20th century flat brick head, followed by a projecting single storey mid 19th century outbuilding. To the left, there is a double glazing bar sash window, with a projecting lean-to addition beyond it, and further along, two more glazing bar sashes. Above, there are five glazing bar sashes.
Inside, the cottages have large chamfered beams and an altered staircase that features a Chinese Chippendale baluster. There is also a single wall of fielded panelling.
