Description

A pair of houses dating to around 1825, located on London Road in King's Lynn. They are built of brown brick, with a likely slate roof. The houses are three storeys high and each has two bays. The doorways are positioned to the right. Number 89 features a panelled front door with a moulded roundel in its centre, topped by a seven-paned fanlight. The doorway is framed by two engaged, fluted Ionic columns supporting a plain entablature and hood. Number 90 has a panelled door with an overlight, its hood supported by scrolled consoles. A stucco string course runs along the first floor, decorated with a Vitruvian scroll pattern. Number 89 has sash windows with glazing bars and gauged skewback arches. Number 90 has late 20th-century sash windows designed to imitate the original style, with top-hung openings. Chimneys are located to the south and in the centre of the building.
