Description
Charford House is a house built in 1825. It is constructed of red brick with a facade of brown brick, and has a slate roof. The building is three storeys high, with a basement, and is three bays wide. The basement has two late 19th-century sash windows with glazing bars. Steps with area railings rise to the doorway on the left side of the front elevation. The doorway has a panelled door within a round-arched case, surmounted by a fanlight without glazing bars. A cast-iron verandah extends from the basement, supported by timber posts, with pierced corner brackets and decorative interlace rails. Two French doors open onto the verandah. The two storeys above each have a blind window in the center, and a 20th-century sash window on each side. A parapet hides the hipped roof. Railings with cast-iron circular sections and tulip finials remain on the area steps.
