Description
Nos. 14 and 15 on Purfleet Street in King's Lynn are two houses that form an L-shaped plan, dating from the early 17th century with later additions. The buildings may have originally been timber-framed and are now rendered and colourwashed brick. No. 14 has a pantile roof, while No. 15 features plaintiles.
No. 15 has two storeys and a dormer attic with two window bays, where the right-hand bay is recessed. It has two mid-19th century sash windows on each floor, each with one glazing bar, set within 18th-century exposed boxes. The gabled roof has a rendered kneeler on the south side, and there is one sloping dormer fitted with a horned sash window. Internal gable-end stacks are present, and a 20th-century half-glazed door is located to the right of the south return.
No. 14 is also two storeys with a dormer attic but is lower than No. 15. It features an early 20th-century plate-glass shopfront with a glazed door to its left. The first floor has two 19th-century cross casement windows with leaded lights. The gabled roof includes one sloping dormer with a casement window. The interior has not been inspected but may be of interest.
