Description
Barton Hall is a house with origins dating back to the late 16th century, which was remodelled and enlarged in 1856 by James and Turner of Norwich. It is constructed of brick and features slate roofs, following a T plan layout. The south front has two storeys and a dormer attic, arranged in three bays. The central door is flanked by cross casements that sit under hood moulds on labels. There are three cross casements on the first floor. The gabled roof has two dormers, each adorned with a high stepped parapet on kneelers and cross casement windows. The gable ends are stepped, with the southern gable dating back to the late 16th century. Each floor has one renewed timber cross casement under hoods on labels. The roof is topped with three groups of quadruple ridge stacks.
