Description
Nos. 48-51 on High Street in King's Lynn are four shops with flats above, built in the early 19th century. The buildings are constructed of brown brick with red brick dressings and feature a pantile roof. They rise three storeys with a dormer attic. All shops have 20th-century shopfronts, with No. 48 showcasing a late 20th-century Edwardian replica. Nos. 48 and 49 consist of four bays, with the upper floors lit by sash windows with glazing bars set beneath gauged skewback arches. A timber eaves cornice with modillions runs along the top. No. 50 has two late 19th-century sashes on each upper floor, also under gauged skewback arches. No. 51 features two similar sashes on the first floor but retains original sashes with glazing bars on the second floor, all under gauged skewback arches. The timber modillion eaves cornice continues from Nos. 48-49. The gabled roof of Nos. 50 and 51 includes one dormer each, with sash windows that have glazing bars. There is a central ridge stack and a gable-end stack to the north.
