Description
26 Norfolk Street is a shop that likely dates from the late 16th century but has been significantly altered. The building features a late 19th-century shopfront that has been added beneath a former jetty, along with various 20th-century changes. It is constructed from timber framing and brick, with a roof covered in 20th-century concrete tiles. The shop has two storeys and includes a plate glass shopfront with a central door. There is a fascia board at the level of the former jetty, and the bressumer is now covered with lead flashing. The first floor is rendered and colourwashed, with two late 19th-century sash windows, each having one glazing bar. The building has a gabled roof with an internal gable-end stack on the east side. At the rear, there is a two-storey cross wing that is rendered and truncated. Inside, most of the timber frame has been removed or concealed.
